Sedov Station in Tikhaya Bukhta

The former Russian Arctic research station at Tikhaya Bukhta (calm bay), Hooker Island, is named after Georgy Sedov, who set foot at that place on 19th September 1913 and built an observation point marked by a tall wooden Orthodox cross. The research station was built in September 1929 and was operated year round until 1959. Take a look at the historically important Russian Arctic research settlement.
